wow, a lot has happened this week...the holiday itself ruled my schedule! but, i also semi-plunged my hand back into some writing that i havent done in sooo longgg...i talked to God a whole lotta heaps about life and friendships...i went wayyyyy off my health-focused path...it snowed...LOL...;)
the last 7 days flew by so quickly. so what was my simplest pleasure?
strangely enough, it was changing around our tv room! :-O
i'm one of those crazy people who is always changing around my rooms anyhoo. hehe. even funnier, hubby is the same way! so we just have a blast rearranging stuff all the time. LOL! im sure our families think we're nuts. (and we are. hehe.)
this is the room we changed around--we basically flip-flopped it. it was perfect for watching football on thanksgiving and toasty-ing up with the fireplace after dinner!! (can anyone say NAP TIME? hehe! two sections of the couch recline, too...ahhh :D ) plus, the hugemongous window gives a wonderful view of our tons of fall leaves, and once we get snow that stays, it'll be a pretty sight!
and of course, this room is the pets' favorite "big screen tv." LOL! it's definitely my fave room, especially during winter because it's the brightest room in the house. :)
enjoy your sunday, and hope you are all recuperating after the holiday!

oooh. i love that huge window. you lucky girl!
ReplyDeletethanks, mandy! i feel super lucky...until it's time to clean them. LOL! we have two other rooms with windows similar to that one, just a little smaller. :)
ReplyDeletebut yes, its a great room with lots of LIGHT, which is a goooood thing in the dark depths of WI winters!
I agree, that window is AWESOME.
ReplyDeleteHi Josey,
ReplyDeleteWhat a really nice room! My wife and I bought our "fixer-upper" home 15 years ago and we are in mid-fixer-upper stage. We can let you into the lower half of the house without being too embarrassed if you go directly upstairs and don’t look into the kitchen. Your husband likes to re-arrange furniture? You're lucky. I'd rather have surgery than to help my wife when she decides to re-model. Erma Bombeck once wrote "no couple should get married until they at least hang a picture together." I think you know what that means. Erma Bombeck was a favorite of my Mom’s and I often read her columns because my mother enjoyed them so much. If you want to laugh about family life and marriage, look her up on line. I think you'll enjoy her writing. -Mike
hey ern, thanks for stopping by and peeking out my window! :):)
ReplyDeletemike, thanks for the compliments! another cool thing is that the room is paneled with old barn timbers. i love that look! sadly, i wish we owned this house; we're renting. in fact, the land (about a total of 5 acres) is for sale, zoned commercial; we are right at the edge of town and also right by an interstate so it's a prime location. its so sad tho--i try not to think of all the old, stately beautiful trees being cut down and all my poor critters being run out of their homes! but as far as we know there's no offers yet, so we're safe for now :)
ReplyDeletethanks for the erma bombeck recommendation! of course i've heard of her, but didnt really know much about her growing up except that she was a funny lady on Good Morning America who wrote books. *hehe* now that i'm older, i'm sure i would enjoy her perspective. i think i'll go to the library and check out, "The Grass Is Always Greener over the Septic Tank." hehe!! :D
oh, and next time you're having surgery i'll know why! LOL!!
i like how rustic and cozy this room feels! i particularly like the view out the window!
ReplyDeletehey ames, thanks!! it's sad, tho...hubby and i have been married for only a few years, and before we got married we both lived like college kids--used furniture, not a lot of stuff at all...and we still kinda do. LOL. we have a huge house and not a lot of stuff in it. the only thing "new" is our mattress & washer and dryer, and they are almost 2 years old. hehe! all our furniture is (nice!) hand-me-down from family. HAHA!
ReplyDeleteso this room is a bit bare...esp the window...but i put up some curtains at one time and i just didnt like it! i love having it totally open. the room itself is REALLY dark because of the barn-plank paneling. the photos are deceiving. i thought about doing the draping of a nice, heavy piece of fabric AROUND the outside of the window, but it seemed like it would make it look like a stage. haha!! any suggestions???
(right now our christmas tree is still in the window...hehehe...it fills it up quite nicely! too bad i couldnt leave it all year. hahah!)
