weighin' down & chillin' out :)

welp, here it is 3 days into december and i’m still posting every day.  what in the heck? :-O

it just feels weerd not to stop in and say hi, when i’m already lurking about reading all of my bloggy friends’ loverly posts.  plus, i dont have anyone else to talk to anyhoo—so i might as well entertain myself! LOL!

well GUESS WHAT!!!  when i stepped on the scale this morning…

it said i lost 1.4lb since last monday!  YAYYYYYYYYYY!

and GUESS WHAT else?  i have to fess up that i didnt stick to my exercise plan last week. AT ALL. *hides under my desk*  i didnt produce one drop of sweat. for nothin. hehe.  oopsie.  however, i did eat pretty durned well and im sure that is where the 1.4lb loss came from.  so give me HALF a pat on the back! hahah!

we even ate at home ALL weekend, except friday nite (cause we usually go out friday nites).  even then i didnt do too shabby—i had breakfast food! hehe!  eggs, bacon, toast, decaf, and hash browns.  no pancakes or french toast loaded with syrup or anything like that!  i think just eating homecooked food all weekend in itself helped me drop that little bit of weight.  usually the weekend screws me over. ;)

soooo last nite i did up our menu again for the week.  i also reminded myself that if i REALLY TRULY want to reach ONEderland by new year’s, i better get my butt MOVING.  literally.  especially because my (short term) goal requires me to lose at least 2lb a week!

i NEED to be exercising anyway, even if i wasnt overweight.  with the endometriosis/thyroid/hormone issues i have, exercise helps keep things in check.  the most noticeable is my MOOD!  which, by the way, hasnt been too bad in the last week and a half or so.  which is NICE.  i dont think i’ve cried once! LOL!  yay me? hehehe.

deskhog.jpgright now i have a cali cat on my arm.  she is such a desk hog!  she’s always laying between me and the keyboard and puts her little head and arms (yes, i call their front legs ARMS. lol.) over my forearm.  sometimes it makes it hard to type, but she doesnt care if she is blipping up and down.  she’s sucha lazy cat, not to mention our worst shedder!  she’s only here because i have a space heater blowing on me! LOL.  oh well, i love her…she is a very loud purrer and super snuggly, so that makes up for the desk hogging. ;)  i’m sure all you cat owners will nod in understanding! hehe.

on another note, it is FREAKIN cold here in WI!  when i got up this morning it was about 14 degrees.  EEP!  i dont plan on leaving the house today if i dont haveta ;)  and thank goodness the sun is shining through the windows to provide some much-needed warmth.  chillin’ out isnt ALWAYS fun! hehe!

alright, i spose that’s enough ramblin on for one day.  does anyone else have a fitness/health/weight loss goal they’re trying to reach by the end of the year?  if so, let me know so i can cheer you on!!

have a HAPPY monday!!! =D

  2. hey, mike!
thanks for the congrats :D and WOW, you big loser! hahaha. 50lb is wonderful!! im sure that helped you feel sooo much better, and obviously it gave your health a huge boost. its hard to change our lifestyles, but in the end, its so worth it! at one point i was even about 50lb heavier than i am now. you can read a little about it here if you'd like.
we'll see how long my daily blogging goes. its so strange, because before november i was a MAYBE once a week blogger. now, after NaBloPoMo, its like talkin to an old friend, so i feel strange not checking in. i'm sure eventually i'll either burn out or just get too busy...but for now i'll just do whatever i feel like doing!!
and you're welcome for stoppin by your blog! i always watch for your updates. i'm hoping by continuing to read talented writers' blogs i'll eventually get inspired enough to do some serious writing of my own :D
    have a great monday!

  3. Hi Josey
Myself, I don't have issues like that. ;-) I'm slim, trim, lean and mean (ya right,in my own mind of course!). My fiance and I have tried adding more vegetables and guess what ...eating less. That's right. I always pig out...seconds anyone? Not anymore. I plan to trim 10 pounds by next summer and keep it off. By the way did you meantion thyroid? I had mine killed off 15 years ago. I had Graves Disease. Totally fine now ... except this persistent madness,(now where's that knife?)

  5. jd, im sure by slowly incorporating those changes you'll definitely lose 10lb permanently by next summer! i know what you mean about seconds--i used to be "clean my plate twice" girl. hehe. rarely do i get seconds anymore tho, because i cook just enough for two and that's it. it helps a lot!
yep, my thyroid's a little whacked out; it runs in the fam. my regular dr's tests came back "normal" they said, but i've had so many symptoms of either an under or over active thyroid. it all factors in with my endometriosis. currently (through my naturopath and a consulting MD) im on several supplements to help support thyroid function (plus the parotid glands), in addition to cleansing my liver and controlling estrogen levels. i am determined to NOT be on thyroid meds the rest of my life like my mom is.
dont know if that was TMI, but either way, that's what im working on in addition to a diet supporting my nutritional needs while i try to heal myself!!
thanks for stoppin by!!! *hides your knives* LOL!!

come back anytime and have a great nite :)

Ha haaa!!! Another guy commenting on yout post about weight loss. I just did an after turkey post with me on a treadmill.
It seems that us fellows are either all or nothing. We care, and work out, or we just chow and sit. The latter is fun -no doubt, but that big ol` belly starts floppin around awful fast after the "20's" are over. Natures cruel joke on mankind.
I like your cat!! LOL :-) Reminds me of "Spike"... my own female feline. I swear they can "talk" those cat's, and I actually believe that I can understand them.
Men who hate cats are in denial, and are afraid to show affection. Lets see if any reaction comes from THAT comment. I'm a little daring today... HAAAA!! (and maybe in trouble) - just kidding I was 8~)
OK Josey, see you later. I'm on the office computer, and should get something done.

  8. LOL eric, yes, i saw your after-turkey post. you can lose the 7lb by spring--just by laughing, im sure!! hehe! i wish i could be like you "fellows" and not look so deeply into losing weight so much. but alas, i was blessed with being a woman! LOL!!
HAHAH! funny you have a girl cat called Spike! just the other day, we were giggling about our cat, Snax, and how when her tail puffs up its spikey...i said, "we should have called her spike!" hehe! and yes, cats can talk. i have 4 of them. i'm the crazy cat lady and they are little people!
fortunately my hubby likes cats =D everyone in his family has a cat or two, and he had a few growing up instead of dogs. but i agree, i think nearly any man who says he doesnt like then is DEFINITELY lying! i think its because many (not ALL) men are so much like house cats and there's an instinctual competition. they'd be totally happy sleeping 23 hours a day, having someone clean up after them, having someone feed them, never having to bathe or leave the house...*snickers* (now I'M gonna get in trouble. AHAH!)
hope you got some work done today!
