helllooooo!! (((echo))) (((echo)))

hehe, HI!!!

now dontchoo go thinkin i’ve ditched my blog!!! ;)  (remember, i PAY for my hosting services. HA!)

january’s been a bizzy month.  not only that, i needed some time to get off my butt and get my nose out of my blog and get back on the track of life.  i have work and goals and stuff and a house to clean and manage (5 pets and a husband…haha!)…and it just wasnt getting done. hehe!  i’m sure you all understand—balance and moderation!!!

im feeling a bit more motivated, energized and HAPPY.  i’ve been exercising consistently for over a week—a HUGE accomplishment for me—and its helping me sleep sooo much better, and my mood has evened out nicely. whew!

i do have to thank my good ole buddy amy for her motivation and encouragement!!  we check in with each other every day and have our geekynerdy excel spreadsheets we share with each other with our daily goals and stuff.  its awesome.  i love the accountability!  thanks, amy!!!!! (who btw, has lost 3lb!!  go tell her you’re proud of her at her quest blog!!)

i’ve also been very active in my sparkpeople team for folks from Wisconsin.  they are a HOOT!  we’ve got people trying to lose 10 pounds, and people trying to lose well over 100.  but ya know, we’re all in the same boat really.  its great to mix it all up!

anyhoo, last friday i did a natural resources program with 35 inner city 4th graders.  you wanna talk about wild!  we had a blast.  they were split up into 3 groups and everything was running quite smoothly until they were all in one group…in the SAME ROOM. heh.  then the behavior went out of control! :-O

i’ve done this type of thing before in the same manner, but with different teachers/chaperones.  but this group of leaders weren’t quite as competent; you could tell the kids didn’t respect them.  and it didnt help that one of the chaperones was literally screaming her head off, rudely scolding the kids…it just riled them up more!  ah well…hopefully she was stressed out enough that she wont come back with another group. teehee!

everything else is just dandy here!  we’re gearing up for another freakish weather change tonite.  a week ago it was in the single digits, today it was 44…and tonite it will be -4.  its currently sleeting and we have a winter storm warning for overnite.  ahhh the joys of the upper midwest! hehe!

i hope i havent lost all my readers and that you’re still lurking about!!  i’ve been reading your blogs, too, just not commenting much for now.  i would like to consistently check in here a few times a week—we’ll see if i can get my blog-groove-thang back. ;) haha!

have a SUPERB tuesssdee evening!

~josey~

p.s. oh and here’s a little giggle for ya…anyone who has cats has experienced this! i know i have! LOL…(only my cats will knock the boxes on the floor, open them and eat the pizza!)

space cadet!

i’m sitting here staring out the window.  there’s a frito lay truck…now an “eggpress lane” mcd’s one…a van with a pig picture on the window…yikes, there’s a huge flatbed tow truck carrying two crunched up SUVs…

*sigh*  yep, im spaced out.  i’ve pretty much been like this the last week.  i wanna chatchatchat on my blog but i just cant seem to coagulate a cohesive post into something interesting to read.

ever since my detox has kicked in, i feel like a robot.  one that’s malfunctioned. LOL!!!  i just sleep, eat, sit at the puter (not being productive), stare out the window, hurt and feel dizzy off and on.  bleh!!

my house is a mess, my plants need watered, my hair needs washed (LOL), my poor dog is bored out of her puppy mind.  some days i wonder how my sweet hubby puts up with all this junk i’m goin thru.  (i’m so thankful, tho!)

i have, however, managed to do some laundry at least!  woohoo? hehe.

yep, im whining.  i dont do it here much—i mean, who wants to read whinewhinewhining?   but, hey, im human and i’m not ALWAYS sillygolucky.  ;)

i suppose there’s really not much more to say right now.  i just wanted to check in with all you folks who stop by to see me :)  i’m here, not gone forever, just floating around…LOL…we all have times where life just calls for more staring out the window than blogging ;)

i’m sure you know what i mean!

*lonnnggg pause*

*battle in brain*

*guilt*

GAHHH! okay, i cant do it!  i just cant do it!  i cant sign off on a blog post where the happiest thing i say is that i did a load of laundry! ROTFL!! ;)

so here, here’s a picture of my cat, snax.  i have 4 cats, if you didnt know.  i love them ALL very much!  but, shhhhhh…she’s my fave.  she’s just special.  she’s gotta silly attitude and she’s really smart.  she likes to run from you and act like she doesn’t love your attention.  but then, at other times she swishes her tail around and wiggles her kittybutt back and forth and loves on you…and snuggles and purrs soooo loud…and her fur is satiny soft…!

1622061-1269509-thumbnail.jpg
snax, one of my kitties :)
she always makes me feel better!

and by this pix, she seems to have the right idea, hey?  just chillin!  takin life one day atta time…and sleepin thru it if necessary ;) LOL.

(yep, that’s a box on my desk…she sleeps there a lot and she’s right at my disposal for petting all day long. haha!  oh, and we call her “snax-in-the-box” all the time…cause she’s ALWAYS in boxes!  way more than the other cats. hehehe. click on her pix for more!)

1622061-1269524-thumbnail.jpg
baby crazy snax ;) i bet she’s butt-wiggling in there, preparing to SPROING!
ohhhh and here’s another one i just found…just a kitten! hehe!  can you tell she was getting ready to SPROING out of that box? LOL!  look at the wild eyes. HA!

i love pets—they make me smile!!  i hope you did, too! =D

okay, i am now concluding my cheesey-happy portion of the post! ;)

oh wait, since i DID use my cat cadet’s name in my post title, i’ll at least give him some credit.  click HERE! (do it, you’ll crack up!)

talk to you soon :)

weighin' down & chillin' out :)

welp, here it is 3 days into december and i’m still posting every day.  what in the heck? :-O

it just feels weerd not to stop in and say hi, when i’m already lurking about reading all of my bloggy friends’ loverly posts.  plus, i dont have anyone else to talk to anyhoo—so i might as well entertain myself! LOL!

well GUESS WHAT!!!  when i stepped on the scale this morning…

it said i lost 1.4lb since last monday!  YAYYYYYYYYYY!

and GUESS WHAT else?  i have to fess up that i didnt stick to my exercise plan last week. AT ALL. *hides under my desk*  i didnt produce one drop of sweat. for nothin. hehe.  oopsie.  however, i did eat pretty durned well and im sure that is where the 1.4lb loss came from.  so give me HALF a pat on the back! hahah!

we even ate at home ALL weekend, except friday nite (cause we usually go out friday nites).  even then i didnt do too shabby—i had breakfast food! hehe!  eggs, bacon, toast, decaf, and hash browns.  no pancakes or french toast loaded with syrup or anything like that!  i think just eating homecooked food all weekend in itself helped me drop that little bit of weight.  usually the weekend screws me over. ;)

soooo last nite i did up our menu again for the week.  i also reminded myself that if i REALLY TRULY want to reach ONEderland by new year’s, i better get my butt MOVING.  literally.  especially because my (short term) goal requires me to lose at least 2lb a week!

i NEED to be exercising anyway, even if i wasnt overweight.  with the endometriosis/thyroid/hormone issues i have, exercise helps keep things in check.  the most noticeable is my MOOD!  which, by the way, hasnt been too bad in the last week and a half or so.  which is NICE.  i dont think i’ve cried once! LOL!  yay me? hehehe.

deskhog.jpgright now i have a cali cat on my arm.  she is such a desk hog!  she’s always laying between me and the keyboard and puts her little head and arms (yes, i call their front legs ARMS. lol.) over my forearm.  sometimes it makes it hard to type, but she doesnt care if she is blipping up and down.  she’s sucha lazy cat, not to mention our worst shedder!  she’s only here because i have a space heater blowing on me! LOL.  oh well, i love her…she is a very loud purrer and super snuggly, so that makes up for the desk hogging. ;)  i’m sure all you cat owners will nod in understanding! hehe.

on another note, it is FREAKIN cold here in WI!  when i got up this morning it was about 14 degrees.  EEP!  i dont plan on leaving the house today if i dont haveta ;)  and thank goodness the sun is shining through the windows to provide some much-needed warmth.  chillin’ out isnt ALWAYS fun! hehe!

alright, i spose that’s enough ramblin on for one day.  does anyone else have a fitness/health/weight loss goal they’re trying to reach by the end of the year?  if so, let me know so i can cheer you on!!

have a HAPPY monday!!! =D

little things

simplesundays.jpg

i’m feeling all warm and fuzzy today.  (and no, its not because i need to shave! ROTFL!!)  this last week was just so mellow and normal.  and now that the hustle and bustle of thanksgiving is over, i realize how thankful i am for the little things…

 1622061-1188128-thumbnail.jpg

what a great week it was*.  here’s to the first whole week of december!

~josey~

* DISCLAIMER: except for the fact i am still weeping for missing ONE FREAKIN DAY of posting after working so hard to post meaningfully all month. (does posting a comment on my own blog count?? LOL. dang.)  *sigh*  okay, no more whining about it!

lots of newbish bloggy questions

hey everyone! (happy december!!)

yesterday i was messin around with my blog, just cleaning things up on the main navigation bar and such.

i thought i’d try to use feedburner to make it easier for folks to subscribe, because i like using it on others’ blogs.  so but well, previously i had used my host’s RSS subscription set up and they had it so peeps could subscribe to my content as well as my comments.  im not sure why they do it that way, cause i dont see a MAIN subscription for comments on most other blogs.  maybe because the level of blog hosting i pay for doesnt include the ability for people to subscribe to comments from a specific post?  i’m not sure :(

anyhoo, i made two feeds on my feedburner account—one for my content and one for my comments.  it doesnt seem to be working as far as stats, tho it appears the actual subscribing works. i dont know!  lol! im sure there’s something simple im missing.  anyone have any suggestions or just general info about stuff like that?  i just wanna have the right up-to-date tools on my page without being all cluttered up.

i guess another thing is the “you comment, i follow” thing.  i dont quite understand it all.  ive read some stuff about it, but its just not clicking in my newbish brain ;)  there’s too much techie language and i cant get past that *lol*  when someone leaves a comment on my blog, they can enter their URL, but once the comment is complete it’s not a direct link back to their site ,but instead one to mine and then it lists theirs.

to me, that doesnt seem like theyre getting any benefit from commenting!  i just wanna make sure those who comment on my blog get their linky love! (and speaking of, i’m actually a little foggy on the link love, too!  oh, the shame.  does it have to do with google ranking or technorati authority or what?)

i’ve been a little afraid i chose the wrong blogging host and its just not newbie-user-friendly enough for me.  but then again, maybe i just need to study up!?   HELP!

oh yeah, and how do you get those kewl little tags at the end of your post for digg, technorati, etc…?  is it simply a CSS thing or whatever that you have to add to your style sheet?  cause i dont know how to do that. LOL.  is it redundant to have them in your sidebar AND at the end of your posts?

one last thing…google reader.  is it just me, or did they change it or something last week?  i cant seem to be able to add a subscription manually anymore, but instead am forced to use some button i had to drag to my toolbar.  this is an issue cause now i cant seem to add, for example, speedcat hollydale, to my reader—it says it cant find a feed!?  if i click his subscribe button, it takes me to my yahoo (should i just be using yahoo? is that the problem? lol.).  previously, i was able to go my google reader page and simply type in ANY URL.  *CRIES*  i dont get it!!

so, if someone could please enlighten me on the whole reader scene i would be forEVer grateful!

FYI for all you whom i have subscribed to (which is pretty much anyone on whose site i comment!), i simply use the reader to find out when you have posted something new.  then i always GO TO YOUR BLOG and read up! that way you get the satisfaction of another hit :D  plus, i’d just rather “feel the ambience” of the page you’ve created to express yourself.  maybe that doesnt matter, but i personally think its a nice thing to do. hehe.  i suppose its like going to a friend’s house to see them instead of just emailing or something, right?  RIGHT! =D

okay my brain hurts now :\  hehe.   i’ll watch for your educational comments *crosses fingers*…and i’ll check in tomorrow for Simple Sundays!!

have a superiffic saturday :)  im putting up my christmas tree today!!

~jos~

ooohhh p.s.  i just had to post this, it made me giggle.  i love kitty commentators! i just imagine this one whispering, with a British accent. LOL!!

SNOW!! =D=D

we got our first snow tonite!!  we're supposed to get up to 3 inches overnight.  i had to pop outside real quick and see...of course i was barefoot so i just stepped out long enough to get maizy in for a quick shot...she was excited cause she lovveesss snow!  (as you can see she is feeling a bit of the holiday cheer herself with her little bandana.  hehe!)

i love it when we have snow on thanksgiving.  it brings back memories of when i was a kid--we always had snow in indiana on turkey day!

YAYYY just what i needed to get that warm fuzzy holiday feeling.  i'm all ready for thanksgiving dinner tomorrow--are you?

talk to you soon!!

vote for trixie!!

hey! :D

well, after posting the goofy cat pix yesterday, i got "scouted out" by Catster (or a Catster fan, i'm not sure!) to enter it in their The 3rd Annual World’s Coolest Dog & Cat Show!

obviously, i have gigabytes full of pix of my furry critters, some definitely funnier than this one, but i decided--what the hay?! might as well--today is the last day to enter!

for the contest, tho, i had to come up with a caption, so if you're curious you can either vote or check out yesterday's blog commentary :)

and, even tho the pix has 3 of my cats, i could only choose one as the contest entrant, so i chose trixie...cause she's the mouser of the family...and she's the one who originally cornered the mouse in the sink. HEHE!!

meowmeow!  thanks for your votes!!

VOTE for Trixie in The 3rd Annual World’s Coolest Dog & Cat Show!

tuesday tails

i LOOOOOVVVVVE making up funny captions for pictures. (did i mention that i LOVVVE it?)

i am well-known in my family for making greeting cards on special occasions, with the recipient's or another fam member's mug (usually photo shopped LOL) being on the front and the butt of a funny caption or joke *giggle*

plus, all our pets have dogster or catster pages and its just a hoot to think up stuff for all their photos!  you know pets...they've got their own lil personalities. =D

soooooo...i'm gonna be brave and try somethin fun, and i hope you will jump right in! :D

every tuesday, i'm gonna post a pix of one or more of my furry children...and you are invited to caption the pix!

yes, i realize you will be tempted to snag ideas from I CAN HAS CHEEZBURGER? or to hijack my precious babies' pix and post them there...but i am subscribed...so i'll know if you do. LOL!! ;)

all i ask is that you keep the captions G rated if you will :)  if you must use profanity, $#%! it out!

if it works out well after a couple weeks, i may even get all fancyschmancy and make a cute lil logo for tuesday tails.  or maybe even make it into a contest.  who knows!  (any ideas...feel free to shoot 'em over to me!)

so without further delay...:D

here's a recent shot of my cats cadet, snax and trixie.  LOL!!!  (YES, i disinfected the sink!!! geez...lol...)

feel free visit the cats' pages if you need some inspiration ;)

hallway racing 500!!

we love playing with our golden retriever, maizy, in the house.  we're fortunate that our home has a very open-concept front living area and wrap-around hallway.  with 3 huge doorways into that living area (which is currently our office and pet play room LOL), it makes it SO FUN to play tag with maiz! =D

right now hubby is gettin a major aerobic workout, and being outsmarted by maizy as he tries to dodge her by psyching her out running to and from the doorways.  hehehe!!

but she knows better!  she never gets duped when he switches doorways on her by sneaking around the hallway. LOL!  her only setback is the hallway linoleum (while the living area is carpeted--good traction!)...so of course its hilarious to watch her scramble around when hubby lunges at her.  HEHE!

1622061-1140278-thumbnail.jpg
maizy, lookin for another hallway race. hehe :)

(i want to get a good action picture of them to put here, but they are just moving too fast! LOL!)

heck, we run a lot in our house. LOL.  when my niece and nephew come to visit, its like the indy 500 in here!!  i know i shouldnt let them run ;) *innocent aunt look*  but they know its only appropriate here and not anywhere else.   (i hope. hehe.)  but its soooo fun to run in the house!  its just important to be barefoot (no slick socks!) for the best results. haha!!

ah well, good times. :)

have a great nite!!  hope you find some good ole fun!!

what're you up to today?

goooood morning :D  (man, i do have to say, i miss my yahoo smiley emoticons *lol*)

how's your week goin so far?  well, happy hump day! hehe!!  things arent too bad here.  i've been struggling with everything in general--i dont feel like eating well, im lazy and dont want to exercise, and i've been having some endo pain off and on.  and im sure the pain is directly related to my diet, so geez i just need to get my butt back on track!  more on that another day...i dont feel like getting all blubby on myself.  im in a good mood and i'd like to keep it that way *hehe*

well today is gonna be fun!!  i have a friend who is moving to minnesota in just a few short weeks.  we met at a "puppy kindergarten" training class last summer--we both have golden retrievers! hehe!  (yes please indulge me--those of us with pets and no kids, you know how we are. *giggle*)  anyhoo, her hubby got a new job which is why they're relocating and he's already there and working so she's working on packing (got that? LOL).  she needs help sorting, throwing and packing...apparently mostly the throwing part because she finds it hard to do that!  well she's asked the right gal! LOL!  i've gotten to the point where i can more easily let go of a lot of stuff i used to packrat.  some things i actually throw away, and some i feel good giving to goodwill.  in fact now that i think about it, i have two huge trash bags full of clothes that need to be dropped off! (the fun part about losing weight! hehe)  hopefully i dont end up being her goodwill...LOL...it might be too tempting to offer to take home a lot of her stuff! haha!!  like a free rummage sale or something ;)

HAHAH! okay tangent!  one of my cats, trixie, is a total goof.  she LOVES eyeglasses.  no, not wearing them *hehe*, but if we leave them on our desks or night stands, she finds them and either chews the ear pieces or she runs off with them! LOL!!  i dont know if she's trying to get our attention or what.  as i was sitting here typing i kept hearing this clicking-crunching noise, and saw she had hubby's glasses he left on his desk! hehe!!  hubby then said something to the effect that maybe she's trying to tell us about her eyesight issues. ROTFL!  okay, maybe you had to be there, but it cracked me up!  our cats are dorks.  they do the funniest things and have very different personalities.  i swear they are little furry people sometimes :D

okay anyhoo, back to what im doing today :)  my friend and i are actually meeting up today at a grand opening of a new dog park in the area!  maizy, our golden retriever, gets soooo excited when we tell her she's gonna see JAKE (my friend's dog).  since she's known him since they were puppies, they play so well together and are super funny to watch!  i have some pictures of them on her dogster page.  we are gonna miss jake (and his parents! hehe) quite a bit once they move, but it will be fun to take trips up to MN to visit!!

tomorrow i'll be volunteering with MFAI for their urban agriculture outreach program.  i found out there will be 60 inner city milwaukee 1st graders there!! :-O  the program is at a farm with prairie land, and we'll be collecting prairie seeds and learning about plants and doing bunches of activities with them.  im soooo excited! :D

welllllp, i really gotta head out for now!  cadet, our INFORMER cat, is reminding me once again (and has for the last hour!) that he is hungry.  he's getting snax all worked up, as she's the food monster. *LOL*  cali is just patiently waiting right here above my desk on the shelf, and trixie is too, but i can tell she will bolt as soon as i stand up. hehe!!  i love my pets!!

so what're you up to today?

have a good one!!

i'm a coco-nut!

cocolander.jpg
hahaha! (this is my cat cali, AKA "coco"-lander...derived from cali-CO...how original! haha!!)

okay, so i am a big fan of my cat cali coco-lander, but that's not what this post is about! hehe!! i wanted to drop ya'll a line and let you know the book i am currently reading-- "Eat Fat Lose Fat" by Dr. Mary Enig and Sally Fallon. its mostly about how using coconut and coconut oil (not cali "cocos" heheh...altho pets do help keep us healthy, but that's another blog topic! ;) pardon the mid-sentence tangent! but hey, you're used to it...hehe!) can help you get healthier--lose weight, recover from illness, etc... well, im not one to fall for fad stuff or things that seem to good to be true, and i was skeptical when my hubby decided to check this book out from the library, especially when i saw the cover of the book said something about "coconut diets!" :-O

so let's back up a bit. as i have progressed along my journey to better health and have become more educated about current studies and opinions on food and nutrients, i have really changed my own view about FATS in general.

i mean come on, when you're fat, it seems like fat is the last thing you should be eating, right?? WRONG!

for the last year or so, i've been focusing on eating more healthy fats and trying (let me stress TRYING *lol*) to get away from eating those addicting trans fats. olive oil, nuts, eggs, fish/cod liver oil, primrose oil, flax oil (usually ground seeds, not the actual oil--its too unstable and goes rancid quickly), coconut oil--those are all ones i consume on a pretty normal basis.

i have NOT gained weight from it, having even up to 40 or 45% of my calories coming from these fats on some days. i have noticed clearer skin (coconut oil is now my ONLY moisturizer for my face and body), softer hair and my dry skin is gone. woohoo!

and it goes WAY further than the weight issue or outward stuff. because of the low-fat craze of the 80's, most of us dont have a clue that healthy fats are not our enemies. sure, people lose weight going the low-fat route cause they are consuming hundreds of calories less.

however, they're also robbing themselves of nutrients, and in addition losing out on many other nutrients they are taking in from their salads and slim-fast bars because our body needs fats to use many of the vitamins in minerals in our foods.

(fyi--any salad you have should contain at least 8g of fat so those greens are actually worth eating!! LOL so if you MUST have low-fat or fat-free dressing, throw some walnuts and pumpkin seeds on that salad!)

we need fat to make hormones, lower stress (hormone related!), have energy, feel full, aid digestion, and heck, we need fat to BE HAPPY! everyone who's gone on a fat-free diet knows that! ;)

anyhoo...back to coconut oil! we have actually been using coconut oil off and on for a few years in our smoothies and to cook with. its solid at room temp--yep, its a saturated fat! now, dont freak out! ;) here's some of the great things about coconut oil:

  • its VERY stable (takes a LONG time to go rancid/slow oxidation) and has a high smoke point, which makes it great for cooking/frying at low/med temps

  • the saturated fats in coconut oil are medium-chain--which means our bodies use it differently than normal saturated fats (for example, butter). it is metabolized more quickly, which is why it also helps boost your metabolism! in addition, it's not converted into cholesterol like animal-based saturated fats are in excess.

  • it's rich in lauric acid, which is anti-viral, antibacterial and anti-fungal! this has given coconut oil a good name in the treatment of many diseases and also prevention. (it even helps clear up acne and get rid of warts!! i speak from personal experience!)

  • and most of all, it enhances and supports our immune system with the nutrients it contains! (and boosting your immune system will solve many-a-physical ailment, as i have personally experienced in the last few months!)

so, ya think my list is boring and bookish? 8-) check out this site for an interesting and humorous read on the benefits of coconut oil! (side note on this link: at the end she mentions Tropical Traditions Virgin Coconut Oil. that's what i use!)

so ta kinda summarize my point of this post...it will take me a few more days to finish this book, but i can tell it is going to be a great source of information on getting healthier in general, and i am starting to see how adding a little more coconut oil (and a LOT less trans fats) will really help me with my recovery from endometriosis.

(i love to read all sorts of health books--even if they are somewhat one-sided--so i can take out of it what i feel applies to me and just add it to my opinions and use it!! anyhoo...hehe...)

i need to lose weight, which will help my body get rid of all that extra estrogen being stored in all my excess body fat! coconut oil will help boost my metabolism and help me feel satiated so i dont crave junk. and this means i will want less fast-food-evil-trans-fatty crapola, which will indirectly help my immune system function properly!

and with my immune system purring like a kitten, my poor adrenals can normalize and my anxiety will lessen even more.

oh and one other thing, the book reallly loves cod liver oil, especially when taken with the coconut oil because the nutrients in each help the body use the other. i take cod liver oil every day and it has greatly reduced my anxiety, among countless other benefits! (the best brand IMHO--Carlson's!)

one last thing! the other day i was reading thru the website of one of my fave places to get skin care (every once in a while, for a special treat!). and found an interesting concoction i am going to try starting tomorrow! it's called "morning brew." here's the recipe (also in the link):

  • 2 tea bags of organic white tea

  • 1 T cold pressed organic virgin coconut oil

  • 1 T organic unsulphered black strap molasses

  • 1 T organic raw honey

  • 1 T organic unfiltered apple cider vinegar

however, im going to use fresh lemon juice instead of the apple cider vinegar (personal preference lol). since im not having smoothies much these days, i thought this might be an easy way to get some coconut oil while i have my tea every morning. plus, i've read lots of good things about blackstrap molasses in helping women with reproductive issues by providing extra iron, calcium, potassium and magnesium! all stuff i need!! i'll let you know how i like it ;) haha!

there's so much info out there about why we need fat to be healthy, so if my blabblings intrigue you, PLEASE go out and do some of your own research and see what works for you! :D you will be healthier for it!!

and remember, even for the most healthy of foods, MODERATION is the key. getting a great variety of whole foods (AND FATS!) will give your body a chance to heal itself of all of what we consider "normal aches and pains," function at peak performance, and live longer more fulfilling lives!! and that's what we all want, right?

ya gotta laugh!

heya'll!

deetknees.jpgi just had to share this HILARIOUS pix of my cat, cadet (affectionately usually called deet, doots, or deeterman LOL!) (dont ask where we get those...i donno...poor animals have so many nicknames, you know how it is!). hubby and i were eating dinner the other nite and cadet was our audience--apparently quite comfy, too! check out his knees! LOL!!! he looks like a furry lump onna log or something. he has this huge pouch on his gut cause he used to be really chunky, and i sometimes call him "the world's first marsupial cat." hahah!! anyhoo, i ran to get the camera, thinking for sure he'd run after me (he wanted my food), but he stayed there...totally chillin :D if you have a good caption for this, send it to me! HEHEH!

in addition, if you like looking at pix of aminals (yes, AMINALS), check out all my furry critters' pages, starting at cadet's. the rest of the "siblings" link from there. they'll give you a good laugh!! as you can see, i LOVE thinking up goofy captions for my pets' pix. hey, if its entertaining, why not!

oh and melissa m., if you're reading this--check out the pix on cali's page where she's in the basket. it reminded me of a picture on the funny link you sent me the other day, with a caption saying, "i are tiny kitn" and a chunky cat who crammed itself into a little woven basket. HAHAH! TOO FUNNY!! i love pets!!

well a quick update on my post-op appt yesterday. it went well. my dr spent about 40 minutes with me--i was soo happy!

i had written out several questions to ask him, and when he saw me bring out the paper, he happily grabbed it and started filling it out like a quiz! hahaha! :) of course we talked about them all, so it was good.

basically i found out i have stage 3 endo...which is considered severe...stage 4 is the worst. i've decided that instead of taking the prescription drug treatment route, i'm going to continue to improve my diet, add supportive supplements, better my lifestyle (more active!) and lose weight, get my stress and anxiety under control, and keep feeding my spiritual life.

wow, sounds like a whole life overhaul, eh? hehe! well, its due. wellllll overdue. then a year from now i'll see how i feel. if the endo pain is back, i'll get checked out and see what's up and then rethink my whole plan. i think a year is a good amount of time to see if my plan's gonna work.

if anything, i'll at least reach my weight loss goal which will be awesome in itself!

welp i better go for now! i'll check back soon. its FINALLY spring...the sun has been out all day, and heck i even opened the window by my desk. fresh air is SO...REFRESHING!

have an awesome weekend...and have a good laugh!!!
